Summary: Because of the rate of an excellent host, we were excited to arrive. The price can’t be beat! When we arrived we were happy to finally be there. After unpacking, we found stains on the carpet, stains on the couch, the tea pot was broken and so dirty on the inside, it was unusable. There were cigarette butts and beer cans all over underneath the deck and trash/broken bell and dirty child’s sock in the front planter beds. Almost all the games had missing pieces which my kids were so bummed about and the majority of the DVDs were so scratched the kids couldn’t watch them. Good thing we brought some of our own. We took about an hour, with four adults and scrubbed the place clean, just to enjoy our stay and be able to relax. We placed clean sheets over the couches and sent pics to Colin so he was aware that the cleaning service he/we were paying for was not doing a great job at all. Colin was very responsive during our stay. There was not adequate soap for hand washing in the bathrooms and only 1 small roll of paper towels. We let him know and he had someone deliver them right away. The saving grace was the washer and dryer. We were able to enjoy the snow and dry clothes quickly. We were able to keep clean towels and wash cloths on hand. Next year we will save up for a more well kept place.
