Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The location of Orłowo is quite exceptional. It is an oasis of peace between Gdynia and otherwise very touristy Sopot and Gdansk. If you like peace and nature, you will love Orłowo. Moreover, the town of Orlovo is on a perfect cycling trail. You can easily cycle to Oliw Park (with shared bikes), for example, just like we did. The villa Orla has a very good location. It is about 15 minutes walk to the main pier and Orłowo beach. 10 minutes walk to a large department store. 15 minutes walk to the train station. The room was modern, smaller but sufficient for a short stay. The big advantage of "Villa Orla" are the common areas - a large kitchen with full equipment (fridge, dishes, dishwasher, etc) and also a large dining room area with a big table and the possibility to go to the ground floor terrace on the other side of the house. Communication with the owner was very good and sending instructions with codes and accesses to the apartment were clear and straightforward.

Negative: All doors (entrance and room) are code-operated wit automatic closing doors mechanism. If you close the door, you have to put the code it each time. That was a little annoying. It would be good to have the option of a key to open as well. At least for the room. Possibly with a card if the owner wants to keep everything digital and under control. The room we had (Apartment 1) was right on the ground floor by the front door (window to the entrance terrace and garden - parking lot). So we heard every knock from the front door (just improve the door seals and the range of closing mechanism). We had the curtains drawn rather tightly for privacy. The view of the "garden" was of the parked cars in front of the house (Could be solved with outdoor pergolas with plants). Otherwise, it is a very peaceful and quiet location. It was good to sleep here (earplugs are useful, though in apartment num1). However, these disadvantages (of apartment 1) can also be attributed to the price, which was lower than the other accommodations.
